psmith: I've read a lot of post-apocalyptic literature. It's one of my favorite genres. Yes, I know, that's another indication of the need for psychiatric help! Oh, well!

No, my daughter is into him though. My favorite PA novel is 'One Second After' by William Fortschen. I also loved Earth Abides.

Earth Abides is available for Kindle (I read lots of books on my iPhone now) and quite cheap. I downloaded a sample to see if it is something I would enjoy. I like that it was published 50 plus years ago.

Thank you, Paula. I don't typically read within genres, though. Earth Abides sounded intriguing because it reminds me of another novel I enjoyed, Rules for Old Men Waiting. I read a bit of Earth Abides last night and will probably download the full novel today. That will do for post-apocalyptic for a bit :-)
