Well, my co-worker's mouse stopped mousing, so I bought her a new one. What to do with the old one? Mail it, of course!!
I rolled up paper to be the size of the AA batteries, and put it into the battery compartment. Affix some mail, an address, and ... the rest is yet to tell.
