026 through 030 - Dragons, music, and fish!

I've got to stop falling behind. Luckily, now that I've got this week out of the way, things shouldn't be too tough for a while. ^^ Also, the new glue stick works great! I was afraid that it would be bad because it was so cheap, but it worked like a charm.

56-365

Tuesday, January 25, 2011
Boy, it really pays to make your backgrounds ahead of time. It's 10:30 pm, we just had friends over for dinner and I realized I'd better not forget to make my MA for today and a quick few pictures thrown together will have to suffice. However, the watercolored backing I did ages ago makes it come much more alive.

43-365

Experimenting with watercolors again. I was going from yellow to brown slowly, or not so slowly mixing the next color a bit. I wanted each little patch to change more gradually but I guess I'm not patient enough. In the end, I really didn't like it so I poured water all over it in an attempt to just blend up the whole mess. I learned some things and that really is the point I 'spose.

17/365- Sad/Happy

Sunday, December 26, 2010

The morning I made this I felt super sad. First, because my 7 month old has been waking up every few hours at night and her mama is starting to feel a bit nutter as a result(there is a reason why sleep deprivation is used as torture!). Secondly, because the chronic sleep deprivation is making me stupid, the last two MA projects I did were sent out before I completed the addresses - including a return address! AGGHHH!!! Our mail carrier tells my they will likely end up somewhere in Georgia (or was it Alabama??) where mail like that ends up. Sigh...

So, I decided to paint something happy to cheer myself up. This is going to my friend Jenny, another new mom, who understands.

8-365 for the love of Oregon

Wednesday, December 08, 2010
Imagine my delight when I requested a new person to send something to on Postcrossing and the random address came back in Portland Oregon!! I don't think I've told any of you that I am from Portland Oregon, USA and am just living here for a while here in Australia. Apologies if I misled anyone to thinking I was an Aussie. So, to celebrate Oregon I cut out the shape of the state and watercolored a picture of my house on it. We have some friends living in the house for us and next summer (north american summer, that is) we'll move back into it after five years away.
