Yesterdays find of the "disquished" moustache backing with todays found objects.

It's amazing how much stuff one can find on the ground when one takes two trains to get to a major shopping mall.
I considered all of these things positive fodder when I picked them up but it wasn't until I got home that I realized that this adhesive fake moustache and eyebrows is neither disguised nor distinguished! I thought that spell checkers had made the Engrish mistakes at Chinese factories a thing of the past. Alas, no.
After Andy talked on his blog about finding money I decided that I would include the 5 cent piece that was sitting on the seat when I got back on the train. It's one of my favorite Aussie coins because it's an echidna wrapped around the number 5. Too cute.
41-365 found objects
Imagine my delight when my postcrosser requested something Tintin and I had nothing, then went out in the back lane to empty the rubbish and found these two Tintin cards in the lane!!!A sure sign that my resolve to make mail art from found objects is a good one. I know the layout of these doesn't really contain much artfulness but it's a rainy summer day and I was supposed to camping. Ah well, off to play some music instead.
40-365 found objects
Hurray 40! Feelin' pretty good, 40 small artworks and I'm not even close to getting tired. In fact with #40 I'm starting a new theme. It won't go everyday but at least once a week I would like to go for a walk and see if I can find enough cool rubbish to make something out of. Today on my walk to the store, I passed this torn bit of basketball, maybe rugby ball. I saw it on the ground and walked past, then stopped and thought it was pleasing and tactile. Then on the next block this dirty alphabet thing with it's "Pop in and get yours now" starburst.
The scan doesn't really do it justice because I glued down the alphabet on a piece of foamcore then I traced the ball remnant shape and cut it out of the foam so that it's sits flush.
I'm really pleased with it and hope to find more inspiring junk.
